NOTHING

Today I got up and went to the gym. Other than that, I did absolutely Nothing! I didn't have to work, I didn't have to get the kids ready for school, so I did Nothing. It was wonderful. I didn't have to be anywhere, I didn't have to do anything, I could just sit. So I did, I let the kids play their video games and watch movies all day. It was so nice to just sit and cuddle with the kids and have them just enjoy being home. Tomorrow, we are going to spend some time outside, but first we are buying SUNSCREEN!!! That is if the sun is actually out again tomorrow!

Hug

Today has been a pretty good day. I worked this morning and talked with some good people, then I went to the office at the school and waited for my daughter to get there. I waited and when she got there she didn't see me at first.....when she finally saw me, she screamed "MOMMY" and ran to jump in my arms and give me a hug.

This happens on a daily basis. I LOVE IT! It makes me feel so good inside knowing that my little three year old missed me and loves me even though I have been gone for a few hours.

I love my cuddles and hugs from my kids. My son wrote me a mothers day card that said, "My favorite thing to do with mommy is to cuddle" AW! I mean he is only 7 but still! AW!!!! I love it.

My 9 year old isn't much of a cuddler anymore but she loves to give hugs just the same. She does have her "I miss my mommy" moments and insists on cuddling.

Needless to say, I love my hugs.

Mothers Day 2011

I usually dislike Mothers day, However this year it was most wonderful. I don't know if it is because of the current mission I am to find the positive things and remember them, or if it is because I finally felt like I was appreciated....needless to say, I enjoyed it this year. My family brought me breakfast in bed. Yummy pancakes topped with fresh strawberries and powdered sugar, bacon, hash browns and orange juice, accompanied with a beautiful pink and white rose. The kids all made beautiful cards and poems. The primary sang to their moms. The ward gave the moms a chocolate bar, and then I came home from church to find a beautiful dinner prepared for me. It was nice to be able to relax and not have to worry about things. It was fun and I really enjoyed it this year.

Today while the sun shines

Today was a beautiful day, the sun was shining and the kids were so happy to get out of the house, as were my hubby and I! It was so nice to be in the sun and spend the day working together with my husband as we decided to clean out the garage. We got a lot done and hopefully within the next week or so, we will be able to finish the garage. Then maybe we can get stuff in the garage that is in the house and in the way, and maybe even fit the car in there too! Here's hoping! All in all today has been a good day, the kids and I had a recital today as well. It was lots of fun.

Clicker? what do you think?

I recently read a blog talking about being positive about life. As I read I realized that I did not have a positive outlook on life. I decided to start looking for a way to help me achieve that positive outlook and so as I was reading other blogs and looking on the internet for some assurance that I could reach that place in my life, I came upon Hilary Weeks blog. She is absolutely amazing and she has said some things lately that have really stuck with me. I know I have not yet attended TOFW but I intend on going in the fall. She talks about keeping a clicker with her and counting how many times she says something negative, as she is doing it she realizes that she is clicking the clicker a lot more than she thought she would. As the days went by she noticed that the counts on the clicker were going up. She was starting to get more negative. When she realized that things weren't getting better, she decided to start clicking the clicker whenever she had a positive thought. As she did this she found that she was happier each day. I have decided that I am going to try this, but instead of a clicker I am going to use this blog. I think that if I am able to write a blog about all the positive things that are happening each day, that I will be able to achieve that positive outlook in life. this saying makes me happy. So I bought it for my house. It is now posted up on my wall in my living room. Every time I see it, it will remind me that I need to be strong and if I am and I keep the faith that I will eventually receive the blessings that I have earned. :)

April 16

Today's happiness is brought to you by the local Ballet. My oldest child went to the ballet for a class trip and when she got home she so badly wanted to go see the whole thing. Today I took her "Shopping" and then showed up at the theater instead. It was so neat to see how happy she was about going to the Ballet. I am glad I could let her see something so neat. The best part of living where we live is that there is a lot of neat activities and things we can do with the kids.

Teaching PTA

Today I did something I never thought I would do. I taught PTA presidents. It was interesting. I have never prepared a presentation before let alone presented it to anyone. I felt accomplished and I really enjoyed teaching it. That isn't really even my happy moment for today. I have a good friend that has been checking on me all week. Today she surprised me by showing up with a plate of yummy cinnamon rolls.....I wasn't home, so she brought it all the way out to the Ice skating rink where I was with my daughter. She really made my day.

Spring

Today marks a happy moment. The first REAL sign of spring....in my book! The first thunderstorm! I love rain, I love lightening and I love Thunder. :) It made me smile.....I loved it. My 9 year old doesn't share the same feelings about Thunder and Lightening that I do.....We used to try and convince her it wasn't a bad thing, But alas she never believed us. We would tell her things like "it is the angels bowling" and "Jesus just wants to take a picture of you". but to no avail, she is still scared to death of thunder and lightening. One day I hope she sees that it can be very beautiful and not scary......but for now, I will let her climb into my arms and cuddle with me. :)

I have seriously neglected this blog for way too long

It seems that I have let life get in the way of something that has kept me thinking in perspective. I feel that I have neglected this blog for way too long and I am here to bring it back to life. I have had many good things happen in the last 3 months and some not so good things, but I am here and alive and I am going to do my best to keep this blog up again. I hope that you will read my blog again.

1 year!

I can't believe it, but in 2 days it will have been a year since I started this blog. I hope that you have been happy reading it as it has helped me to realize that there are so many good things in life. Sometimes we get caught up in the craziness in the world and forget that there are many small things in life that we should be happy about. I think this blog is going to provide a way for me to remember those things each day. I will continue to post here. I love this blog and it has really become a wonderful thing for me.

NEW YEARS EVE!

Can you believe how quickly time has passed? This year is over in just hours and we have to look back and see how in the world time has flown by! It is time to make some new resolutions ( unless your resolution is to NOT make any resolutions ) ;) I know that not everyone believes in resolutions.....I like to think of my resolutions as more of Goals. Realistic ones. Not "I am going to lose 500 pounds" type resolutions. Those are not cool.....Anyway, I haven't really thought about my goals for the year yet. I am sure as I go throughout the day today and tomorrow I will have time to think about them. As for tonight, we are going to ring in the New Year with some good friends, games, food and fun. I am looking forward to it. Well off I go to get the house ready for guests. Have a :0) Day and :0) NEW YEAR!!!!!

December 26-30

Wow time flies when you are having fun! The last week has been fun. We have all played with our new toys. Unfortunately life has to come back to a full swing and so this last week has been spent cleaning. I am currently working on getting the Christmas decorations back in the garage. I have loved this season and not loved this season. I have had mixed feelings. I am ready for it to be done and the new year to begin. I had myself a little breakdown this week and I got really mean with my kids. A good friend saved me though and took me to dinner away from the house. It was nice. I had to really take a good look at my life and realize that I have too much clutter. So I decluttered. I made the kids get rid of all the toys they had before Christmas. The only toys they kept were cars and barbies. The rest went away. Their rooms are clean. The house is mostly clean. I still have to clean the kitchen and laundry room. Ah...life. I am happy to say that my mood has changed and I am doing much better today than I was a few days ago. Hope you all have a Happy Day!

December 18-25

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! So yeah, the last week and a half has been super crazy, and I can't imagine why....must be because today is Christmas. We have had such blessings in the last couple of weeks. We have made it so far. Hopefully we will continue to make it. We always hope for the best. Of course we also realize that Family is much more important than all the things in the world. I was thinking today though......Have you heard that story where this couple wanted to get each other something special for Christmas, and one sold their hair and the other something they really loved...today reminded me of that. As we opened our gift from my mom and my grandparents and we were getting things for this New Queen sized bed that we were supposed to have by Christmas and realizing that there was no bed to put it on. It was interesting. The reason we don't have our bed is because my husband ended up in the hospital having his appendix out. I am so glad he is alive and I would much rather put my money towards that, than a good nights sleep. So until we have the money, which may not be for a while, we will have this beautiful set to remind us what is really important.

December 17-18

On the 5th day of Christmas Heavenly Father gave to me, a priceless experience when my 3 year old saw Santa and screamed Santa and ran to him. Sooooo very cute! A great date with my husband at his work party, yummy food, friends and an Awesome Bishop and his wife who watched my kids. They are GREAT!

On the 6th day of Christmas Heavenly Father gave to me, a beautiful snow covered ground, a new friend and some yummy food and talking to my cousin and my good friend. :) makes me happy!
